about a 10-minute walk from Lake Kinrin.This quiet mountain temple is especially beautiful during cherry blossom

that feels very different from the busy streets around Yunotsubo Kaido.
- Kokonoe “Yume” Suspension Bridge
For travelers with a car, another great side trip is the
Kokonoe “Yume” Suspension Bridge, about a 45-minute drive from Yufuin.This is Japan’s highest pedestrian suspension bridge,
stretching 390 meters long and 173 meters above the valley.
From the bridge, you can look straight down into the powerful Kyusuikei Gorge
and its waterfalls, and on clear days you can see as far as the Aso mountain range.The view changes with each season, from fresh green leaves in spring
to deep red foliage in autumn. During the fall colors,
it becomes one of Kyushu’s most popular scenic spots.

Yunotsubo Kaido and the Lake Kinrin area get crowded in the afternoon,
especially on weekends and holidays.If possible, visit between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.
